Education The Department of Mathematics Education offers exciting programs for both full time and distance students while providing a solid foundation in mathematics content and 21st pedagogies for teaching. Our students follow high-caliber education programs in mathematics and the department offers a varied study program that provides students with a wide range of options to choose from.

Students seeking a diploma in teaching can choose from three concentrations: Early Childhood Education (Pre- Mathematics I, II and III), Primary Teacher’s Diploma (Mathematics Education I, II and III) , Secondary Teachers Diploma (Mathematics Education content I, II and III, Mathematics Teaching Methods I, II and III) Distance undergraduate students seeking a bachelor’s degree have two options: Bed Primary or Bed Secondary. Research Our members of department also conduct ongoing research on the best mathematical approaches to problems in a variety of areas of Mathematics Teaching and Learning. Action Research is seen as a vehicle through which reflective practice, professional growth and effective teaching and learning of Mathematics can be actualized.
