About Department

Social Studies Departmental Profile Social studies education is an integrated study area with the following programmes: Early childhood education, Primary and secondary teachers Diploma. Kasama College of education offers these programmes at both full time and distance mode.

 

The college also offers degree courses through distance learning in Bachelor of Education in Primary Education. Bachelor of Education with Arts in Civic education, Religious Studies and we hope to offer courses in History and Geography in the near future. Social studies department is staffed with highly qualified, self-motivated and hardworking lecturers, in both content and teaching methods. The department aims at promoting research, analytical and critical thinking in students to enable them explore and tackle issues in the 21st century. Lecturers encourage and engage students in action research and use of ICT during contact and non-contact sessions to enhance their studies.
